Chronicle of the Breakneckers [D&D 4e/Iron Heroes Hybrid] "One of the first casualties of the “quiet war” has been the notorious military unit known as the Breakneckers. Garrisoned in a fortress called “Raathspeeg” near a town called “Uyl” they were in a position so far North that the area they were in was the subject of a diplomatic deal which resulted in it falling into the Northern kingdom by way of the stroke of a quill. With the Breakneckers remaining fiercely loyal to the Southern cause the unit commander found himself in an untenable position. For a time they became an honour guard for the Southern ambassador stationed there, but the riding tensions saw him leaving in the dead of night a month ago. In recent weeks a large Northern army has moved into the area, outnumbering the Neckers three to one. The Breakneckers have a proud military history and record for discipline but 80% of their ranks are made up of recruits with no experience of war, but with war about to break the land apart, the unit's NCOs have struggled to keep a lid on the rising tension. The game tells the story of one squad of soldiers in the beleagured Breakneckers battalion, and how they rise from obscurity to legend." Moderator: Torq
