Taedyn looks at Sheen and states ...

"If you can figure out a way to seal the section A areas as we secure them, we can stay in section A.  My concern is having to check the same location over and over again.  Anything in the Obligate's books about the traps, wards, and glyphs?"

Replying to Sheen's request, Ameera states "I will try and set traps along the way to protect where we've been and also perhaps protect us from future attacks.  I would guess that their ability to work would depend upon the intelligence of the creature and what type of trap it sets off."

Dakar laughs out loud and looks to the pixie. "Well Sheen, it seems that you have finally begun to absorb the logic of Gorums mighty battle theories shared during our nightly.....er..discussions.  Even a passive pixie like you cares to protect his pants when faced with the possibility of becoming trapped on all sides by the enemy.  I'm with you friend, let's clear the area of demon scum before we put it to our backs."

"If the party feels that we can secure the area well enough, I have no problem staying in Section A.  Just remember some of the Damaged Ones are more experienced than we are.  This is why I wanted to go to Section E so we can learn how to secure the area no matter how experienced the Damaged Ones are.  As for enemies toward our backs, due to the prison's population and recently added after the breach population, enemies are at our back around every corner regardless what section we are in."

Harpsent will re-join the current discussion about securing areas and such "Most of these sections have become fairly well structured over time Taedyn.  There is not a large amount of moving back and forth anymore.  And now that Ertigon has resealed the prison this section should again be secure as far as outside creatures invading.  So your suggestion would normally have been a sound one.  There is the issue of the gateway in this section, however, and if someone or something has truly opened this--to release the damaged ones trapped there--then it would be suicide to not address this issue as quickly as possible.  If we do not and move into section E, these creatures could very possibly attack us from behind while we are trying to secure section E.  The Celestials do not fully control their area anymore so even if we do find them, it could be that they need our help more than we need theirs.  Much of their energy has been focused on keeping the glyphs charged at their post.  This has become a taxing purpose over the years and they are struggling to continue doing it.  If you wish I can go look at the gateway and see what is going on in the rest of this region?  I should be able to teleport away if there is any danger..."

"Yes please Harpsent, if it is no danger to you.  This will decide what our next course of action will be.  At the very least, assist us in our decision."

Harpsent glows a bright yellow briefly before shrinking to a dull blue flicker... "Ok, I will be back in a few minutes." ...and disappearing.

Spoiler: for Arpat (click to show/hide)

As promised Harpsent returns in a few minutes and reports "The gateway is certainly opened.  There are minor demons running loose throughout this region.  The "good news" is that they are slaughtering all the other creatures that might have barred our way."

"I propose we do a sweep of the entire section A securing each area the best we can.  At the very least we can severely deplete Section A's population just in case we can not find a way to raise Section A's barrier and therefore there will be "significantly" less invaders and prisoners at our backs.  Once we learn how to raise barriers and apply more dangerous traps, we can do extra sweeps in each section to make sure it is all clear."

"Also, how merciful do you all want to be with the invaders?  Tactically, most invaders should be dealt with because you never know when they will strike us from behind or when we are at our most vulnerable position.  However, I will go with the party's consensus."

Dordolio, who wisely sat down at Harpsent's advice, stands up and tells the others what he has seen and he adds "We just need to be carefull, the monsters that survive are the stronger or smarter ones... so it won't be easy... "
thinking: "Thanks Harpsent, for checking the area" Dordolio also thinks about Desna and the vivid image of her floating in front of Dordolio. He knows that harpsent also will see the picture.

//ooc: showing harpsent the memory is a way of saying thank you. Dordolio knows that material gifts won't impress Harpsent much, but a vivid memory is a precious thing to share.

"I too support an aggressive stance towards potential hostiles....with an open eye for anybody or any "thing" that may be a resource, useful hostage or friend to the party.....  do any of our masters of magic have a binding spell? something that would isolate one creature from many while we secure a position by blood or negotiation?"

As Sheen is sharing his thoughts in the conversation, he is looking for a shirt or two or some medium weight scraps of fabric in the workshop areas.  If successful, he begins to make himself a pixie size handkerchief and a half-orc size one for Dakar.  He holds up the extra fabric and asks anyone if they would like one too.

"I am hoping that this will reduce personal damage to our party from bloodspill of the gaseous demons."  I will try to pay attention to the toxins that we are exposed to from here on out and the develop cures to help us heal more quickly."

Taedyn jokingly states ...

"Sheen I think you are part Gnome." <smiles>

In a more serious tone as not to confuse Sheen...

"Yes, please I will take one.  Most things are worth an attempt."

"Sheen, I currently do not have any type of binding spell.   Maybe you can channel one from Desna if she is listening."

"Gnome...hmmm ..a nice compliment eh Marakast...sadly this place has brought out the self-preservationist in me - I will do what has to be done to get us into the light in one piece and leave the dreams behind me, Desna willing......I cannot bear the thought of dying in this place."

Sheen feels his emotions too strongly and blinks into invisibility....he wonders if Desna would help with a binding spell and heads to the treetops to spend some time focusing on this question.

Taedyn looks confused and looks strangely at Sheen.
