Wife's going to be out of town August 4th, I'll be doing the forum reboot between the 4th and the 10th. I will absolutely try my best to preserve all the data. But just to be on the safe side, back up anything you don't want to lose.

But there would be a lot of spoilers in a long thread, you know?
I am glad we can back up stuff so easily, PHbb requires that you have something installed on the forum, the most printing can do is 40 posts per print.
I don't remember how many spoilers raik has in his game--some use that feature a bunch and some don't. I do remember that raik has a huge amount of posts--so yeah that's gotta be a pain no matter what. I'd say--if you want spoilers saved raik--just forget the Word thing and save everything in the web page format--mucho easier... I think I'm just going to let the spoilers go, unless there's something particularly valuable bit in a particular spoiler. IIRC, almost all of them had to do with explaining or speculating about fine points of the game rules being used . . . and since we're going to go with an entirely different game system (M&M 2e rather than Cortex), such are hardly going to be needed post-reboot. Besides, most readers of the old stuff would (hopefully!) be new players, who'd likely only be reading "What Has Gone Before" in order to get an OOC overview of the game's history.

OK, I just went through and archived my threads with the Print feature (nice!) and can post them back as attachments after the upgrade if necessary, not a big deal. But I did notice that that method doesn't save attachments - I've got a bunch of maps and images I've attached to posts in threads that I'd like to keep too. Any suggestions on how to find them all and back them up besides traversing all the thread pages and looking for them and dl'ing them?
Thanks!
Rob

No, private messages cannot be archived. NOES-NOES-NOES-NOES-NOES-NOES! (OK, most of you know that I don't venture this far outside my game threads, so be afraid!) Losing my bestest recipes from Cthughua... unacceptable! *starts a solid backup routine* Seriously, I'm glad that the question was raised, as I wondered. THANK YOU!!

OT: Incidentally, I'm cooking at my brother's restaurant now. Now, why doesn't that surprise me? I hope it's going well, feel free to PM me with any great new discoveries or a web presence where I can check the place out.

No, private messages cannot be archived. NOES-NOES-NOES-NOES-NOES-NOES! Didn't know. Didn't even think about my PMs. Ah, well. If I didn't think about them, it probably means there really isn't that much truly important there, anyway.

Yeah I sent out a mass email to everyone... it's today. Though not until later tonight after I get back from a birthday party. Maybe tomorrow actually.

I will make a quick pass and back up things I have put on here just to make sure I have a recent one.
